MEDICAL WEIGHTLOSS PROGRAM
What is Semaglutide?
GLP-1 agonist works by increasing insulin release, lowering the amount of glucagon released, delaying gastric emptying and reducing appetite. Semaglutide is FDA approved to treat weight-loss in those that are overweight and obese. Semaglutide is present in Wegovy and Ozempic.
How does it works?
Semaglutide is administered weekly along with a B12 vitamin shot. Each week both weight and BMI will be closely monitored managing the effectiveness of the drug. The medication is then titrated monthly until the maintenance dose is reached.
Why is having blood work completed so important?
Blood work is imperative because we look at several different things. Hemoglobin A1C, kidney function, liver enzymes are baseline labs and important to have prior to starting the program. Ensuring that the labs are not altered due to being on the medication is our priority.

Who would not be a candidate?
it is essential to get an in depth past medical history to ensure that there is no medical history that will contradict the program. You should not use semaglutide if you are allergic to it, or if you have:
